Marianne Schnall: What’s your prayer for the children of the future? What would you like to see?
Alice Walker: A certain fearlessness of being who they are and expressing themselves as freely as – I don’t know, as freely as a pear tree or an apple tree expresses itself. Just be what it is that you are – and that is just fine. You don’t have to be what you’re not in any way. And live that and live that fully. And that is where you discover ecstasy. You can’t really have ecstasy as something other than yourself. And life should be ecstatic. You know, not every minute, but you should definitely have enough ecstasy in your life from time to time to know that you are just completely wired into creation.
